With a long-lasting and non-stick release surface, high temperature resistance and excellent chemical resistance, CHEMFAB® products are used in the packaging market and are available in various designs that are suitable for use with all heating systems including RF and microwave systems.
These products have been developed to provide the longest lasting and most consistent performance that maximizes productivity and efficiency for the UPVC welders. CHEMFAB® packaging solutions are available as release sheets for V, flat and combined welding plates in sleeves and endless sheets.
In heat sealing applications, CHEMFAB products are typically used as release surfaces at the point where the plastic bag material is heat welded to close the bag/package. The actual heat sealing process may weld 1 or more sides of the package at one time. Depending on the customer’s process, it may be preferred to use sheets of PTFE (Teflon™) coated fabric, or may require the use of adhesive-backed PTFE coated fabric. Our products can withstand the heat of the welding operation and provide a non-stick surface so the sealed package can easily release from the welding point.
Once a package is wrapped in plastic (and the plastic sealed in an L-bar or other type of sealer – using our PSAT products), it is passed through a heated tunnel that shrinks the thin plastic to conform to the contours of the package. Our open mesh belting material is used to convey the material through the oven, while silicone coated fabric curtains installed at the ends of the oven serve to keep heat inside the oven as much as possible. The open-mesh belting meant to aid in air flow and heat transfer within the oven. It also withstands sticking between the plastic wrapping and the belting material surface.
HDPE blown film is sealed and cut with high temperature and speed to make plastic bags (grocery bags are common). Plastic is heat welded to seal the outside border of the bags. Depending on the customer’s process, it may be preferred to use sheets of PTFE (Teflon™) coated fabric, or may require the use of adhesive-backed PTFE coated fabric. Our products can withstand the heat of the welding operation and provide a non-stick surface, so the sealed bag can easily release from the welding point. Our CHEMFAB brand tear resistant products are generally preferred for these applications.
