CHEMFAB® products are used in a number of electronic applications ranging from cable wrap to linings within high performance electromagnetic solenoids.
Cable wraps enable reliable operation through protection of cables in caustic environments and maximum safety of equipment and personnel from extreme heat and exceptional flame resistance. Electromagnetic solenoids benefit from the most reliable and longest-lasting operation of CHEMFAB® products as a result of non-stick surfaces and radio frequency transparency.
Used as a non-combustible, chemical and mechanical barrier, CHEMFAB PTFE (Teflon™) coated fabrics are an integral layer on spiral wound, flexible, convoluted hoses that are used in fluid transfer (delivery or extraction) of corrosive substances including engine fuels, oils, solvents, paints, adhesives and inks. One of the biggest applications is as hydraulic hoses in the aerospace industry and these hoses are also used for transfer of caustic or food grade media under extreme pressure, temperature and flexing conditions.
Electrical insulation (including coils and wire wraps)
CHEMFAB PTFE coated fabrics are used in electrical insulation applications such as aerospace wire wrapping and electrical coil and phase insulation. Our materials offer outstanding mechanical strength, high dielectric strength, chemical resistance and the retention of these attributes at high temperatures even above Class H (356°F / 180°C). CHEMFAB fabrics are also used as linings for the coils of superconducting magnets given their low friction (reduced noise and vibration) and high dielectric properties which are stable even at very low temperatures (-452°F / -269°C).
Highly efficient and resistant, flexible printed circuit boards are part of virtually every modern electronic equipment type, such as cameras, printers, home devices and communication devices. Compared to rigid circuit boards, flex circuits are more dynamic, smaller and more reliable. To ensure seamless operation, external circuitry is encapsulated and protected by flex circuit coverlay. CHEMFAB PTFE coated fabrics are the product of choice for CVL (coverlay) lamination because they are mechanically strong and provide excellent release and non-stick properties. Our super smooth, easy release and defect-free products have been designed to enable maximum output in highly automated roll-to-roll processes and can be also used as cushing/releasing layer and in quick lamination.
CHEMFAB PTFE coated fabrics are an excellent solution for use in the LCD ACF bonding process. Widely used in pressing COF (chips onto film) or COG (chip onto glass). CHEMFAB PTFE (Teflon™) Fabrics maximize the output and machine productivity by providing excellent release during bonding chips onto either film or glass. The non-stick surface of our material means that no adhesive residue is left on fabric. Resistant to high temperatures and dimensionally stable, our products are a reliable solution allowing for continuous production in your products and minimizing the risk of ruining the chip surface.
