CHEMFAB PTFE coated fabrics are an excellent solution for use in the continuous in line cure extrusion processes. Widely used in manufacture of rubber profiles, CHEMFAB PTFE (Teflon™) belts maximize the output and machine productivity by providing excellent release during curing and cooling of many polymeric materials e.g. PU, PE, PVC, ... . The non-stick surface of our materials secures that no compound residue is left on the conveyor belt and the surface smoothness of the extrudate is not compromised by any imprints. Resistant to high and low temperatures and dimensionally stable, our products are reliable solution allowing for continuous production in your products and minimizing a risk of rubber profile rejects in your curing process.
CHEMFAB PTFE coated fabrics are a great process aid for the production of different foam products. They allow the transport over a wide temperature range and avoid sticking tendencies of the soft polymeric materials, while being in the expansion process. The post curing on the belt is uncomplicated and there is no risk of interference between the belt and the final product. The final curing can continuously run up to 260°C (500°F) and for a limited time even up to 300°C (572°F) to assure a fantastic final product. The variety of products you can process on the belts is nearly unlimited as PTFE (Teflon™) represents one of the most inert materials you can find. Basically the right CHEMFAB product provides you with a unique solution offering high abrasion resistance and a huge production output per belt.
In this application the non-stick properties of CHEMFAB PTFE coated fabrics are the essence for use. By avoiding polymeric residuals on the surface the continuous production process is not disturbed and the casted and cured material can be released at the end of line in smooth manner. Furthermore the surface texture of CHEMFAB materials can be adjusted based on the expected surface roughness of your final product. There are absolutely smooth and even grades available offering a flat surface finish, but also textured versions are possible if needed. The severe chemical nature of the rubber curing represents a real challenge for processing aids like transportation belts. CHEMFAB PTFE coated fabric are customized to offer the longest lasting and very consistent solution for your production process.
In that application PTFE coated fabrics are widely used and a common and approved process aid. CHEMFAB PTFE coated fabrics are available as standard grades offering basic non-stick properties for such transportation belts. Alternatively and game changing, differentiating CHEMFAB grades with specially treated surfaces, or laminated materials with an additional amount of PTFE cast film on top, offer a unique lifetime ratio compared to those standard grades.
